6PM Simpsons Ritual to be moved to desolate digital

Analogue TV viewers of the Simpsons will be set for shock next year when TEN moves it over to digital.

With the take up of digital still very slow, many watchers will be switching over to online viewing as more and more Aussies take up high speed Internet and less early adopt new technologies , like digital TV.

“What Ten has in mind for the 6PM time-slot is seriously different. It could well change the landscape of free-to-air, prime time, national and international news and current affairs in this country – for the better.” Claim Channel 10

The Negus-fronted news program is part of Ten’s switch to current affairs for two and half hours in the early evening. The network will stick with its existing News At Five, before the new half hour 6pm bulletin. it will then be followed by a local bulletin at 6.30pm before The 7PM project.

Negus currently presents Dateline on SBS although he is also a regular guest on Ten’s the 7PM Project.

Neighbours and The Simpsons will switch to Ten’s new digital channel Eleven. Those without Digital Television can just get stuffed according to TEN.

Meanwhile vast technical issues like poor reception, Picture freeze, loss of sound/ picture sync and digital distortion continue to plague Australia's Digital TV System. Many users have reported speaker damage after large audio spikes described as "cracks and pops" constantly appear under adverse weather conditions.
