George Michael released from jail

SINGER George Michael was released tonight from prison in Suffolk, eastern England, Sky News reported.

The former Wham! star, 47, was sentenced last month to four weeks in jail and another four weeks on license for crashing his car while under the influence of cannabis.

Michael was rumoured to be planning a big party with friends upon his release.
He was found slumped at the wheel of his Range Rover in July after smashing into a Snappy Snaps photo shop near his home in north London.

Michael, whose real name is Georgios Panayiotou, has a previous driving conviction from 2007.
He spent time in London's harsh Pentonville Prison before he was transferred to Highpoint Prison in Suffolk, eastern England.

The Sun reported that George cried on his first night in jail as fellow prisoners mockingly sang his famous songs "Freedom" and "Faith."
